- Coordinating and assigning all public relations/public affairs activities in Kern and neighboring counties
- Event planning and day of coordination
- Developing and managing outreach plans including strategy, goals, budget and tactics
- Developing a media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
- Develop strong media pitches and secure stories with traditional media outlets
- Direct social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests
- Manage influencer communications and scheduling
- Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations
- Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis
- Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis
- Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
- Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
- Responsible with planning and allocating the clients’ budget, which includes: monitoring spending, approving purchases, reallocating funds and approving invoices
- Provides support and assistance as assigned to initiate and secure new business acquisition (new project hand-off, setup, cross-sell and marketing opportunities)
